Psalms for Thursday

Chapter 2
Prayer to Moses the man of God: O Lord, you have been our refuge in all generations.
Before the mountains were born, and the earth was destroyed and consumed, from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.
A man will sit down until he is oppressed and say, "Return, O sons of men."
For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that passes by, and a watch in the night.
Your stream will be like a year, in the morning it will be like a chaff that will pass away.
In the morning it sprouts and fades; in the evening it withers and dries up.
For we are consumed by your anger, and we are terrified by your wrath.
You have forgiven our sins against you, and our world is the light of your face.
For all our days are turned away from you; all our years are like a whirlwind.
The days of our years are seventy years, and if by reason of strength they are eighty years, yet their multitude is full of toil and trouble, because they are short and fleeting.
Who knows the strength of your nose, or the fear of your past?
To number our days, so he knows and gives wisdom to the heart.
Return, O Lord, until death, and have mercy on your servants.
Satisfy us in the morning with your mercy, that we may sing and rejoice all our days.
We rejoiced in the days of our affliction, the years of our seeing evil.
Your work will be seen by your servants, and your glory will be seen by their children.
And the favor of the Lord our God shall be upon us, and the work of our hands shall be established upon us, and the work of our hands shall be established.

Chapter Exit
He dwells in the secret place of the highest, in the shadow of my shadow they shall rest. :
I will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." :
For he will deliver you from the fierce battle, from the wilderness of the living. :
He will cover you with his wings, and under his wings you will find shelter, coolness, and peace. :

A word from the wilderness will walk in darkness, from the pole of the foundation of the sun. :
A thousand shall fall at your side, and a thousand at your right hand; it shall not come near you. :
You will look with your own eyes, and you will see the salvation of the wicked. :
For you, O Lord, are my refuge, the Most High, who hast delivered me from my affliction. :
No evil will befall you, and no pestilence will come near your tent. :
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. :
On your hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. :

For behold, your enemies, O Lord, for behold, your enemies will perish; all the workers of iniquity will be separated. :

A righteous man will flourish like a date palm, and a cedar in Lebanon will flourish. :
Planted in the house of the Lord, in the courts of our God, they will flourish. :

Side chapter
To the God of vengeance, O Lord, to the God of vengeance, to the God of vengeance.
The Lord, the Judge of the earth, has restored justice to the nations.
How long, O Lord, will the wicked be exalted?
They will declare, they will speak, they will say, all the workers of iniquity will be destroyed.
Your people, O Lord, will be oppressed, and your inheritance will be afflicted.
They will kill the widow and the stranger, and they will murder the fatherless.
And they said, "He does not fear the LORD, nor does the God of Jacob understand."
Among us are the foolish and the foolish. When will you understand?
He who plants an ear, does he not hear? He who creates an eye, does he not see?
The chastisement of nations, does not the one who teaches a man gain knowledge?
The Lord knows the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
Blessed is the man whom you afflict, O Lord, and teach him from your law.
To keep him quiet from the waters of evil, until the wicked know destruction.
For the Lord will not forsake his people, nor forsake his inheritance.
For judgment shall return unto righteousness, and after it shall be all the upright in heart.
Who will rise up for me with the wicked? Who will stand for me with the workers of iniquity?
If the Lord had not helped me, I would have been like a stranger, like my soul.
If I say, "My feet are a bed," your mercy, O Lord, will sustain me.
In the multitude of my troubles within me, your consolations delight my soul.
Your association with a throne creates labor against the law.
They will fight against the soul of the righteous and will condemn innocent blood.
And the Lord has become my refuge, and my God my rock of refuge.
And he will bring their own destruction upon them, and in their wickedness he will consume them; the Lord our God will consume them.

Chapter 13
Let us sing to the Lord, let us sing joyfully to the Lord, for he will save us. :
His face was turned in thanksgiving, with joyful songs to him. :
For the Lord is a great God and a great King above all gods. :
In whose hand are the earth's foundations, and the mountains' heights are his. :
To whom belong the sea, and he made it; and his hands formed the dry land. :
Come, let us worship and fall down, let us bless before the Lord our God. :
For he is our God, and we will be the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand today, if you will listen to his voice. :
Do not harden your hearts, for there is strife, as in the day of a battle in the wilderness. :
Your fathers tested me by testing me, and they also saw my deeds. :
Forty years I was in a generation, and I said, "They are a people whose hearts are perverse, and they have not known my ways." :

Chapter Order
Sing to the Lord a new song, sing to the Lord, all the earth. :

Declare his glory among the nations, his wonders among all peoples. :
For great is the Lord and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. :
For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but the Lord made heaven. :
Give thanks and glory before Him, and be glorified in His sanctuary. :
Bring to the Lord, O families of the peoples, bring to the Lord glory and strength. :
Give to the Lord the glory due to His name; bring an offering and come into His courts. :
Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. All the earth trembles before him. :
Say among the nations, The Lord is king, even though you are a desolation, but you will not fall; your hand will judge the peoples with justice. :
The heavens will rejoice, and the earth will rejoice; the sea and its fullness will roar. :
My field and everything in it will be overgrown, then all the trees of the forest will sing for us. :
Before the Lord, for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth; he will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with his faithfulness. :

Chapter 27
The Lord is the King of the earth; many islands will rejoice. :
Clouds and thick darkness surround him, righteousness and judgment surround his throne. :
A fire will go before him and burn all around his enemies. :
His lightnings illuminated the withered land and the earth began to tremble. :
The mountains melted like clay before the Lord, before the Lord of the whole earth. :
The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory. :
All the idolaters who glorify idols will be ashamed; all the gods will bow down to him. :
Zion shall hear and be glad, and the daughters of Judah shall be glad because of thy judgments, O Lord. ':
For you, O Lord, are the most high over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods. :
Those who love the Lord hate evil; He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked. :
Light shines for the righteous and joy for the upright in heart. :
Let the righteous rejoice in the Lord and give thanks to his holy name. :

Psalm Sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done wonders; His right hand and His holy arm have done wonders. :
The Lord has made known his salvation in the sight of the nations; he has revealed his righteousness. :
He has remembered his mercy and his faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. :
Sing to the Lord, all the earth, break forth and sing and make melody. :

Chapter 16

In a pillar of cloud he spoke to them who kept his testimonies, and the law was given to them.
O Lord our God, you have afflicted them; you have been a God of support for them, and you have avenged them on their sins.
Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at his holy mountain; for the Lord our God is holy.

Chapter K
A Psalm of Thanksgiving: Praise the Lord, all the earth. :
Serve the Lord with joy; come before him with singing. :
Know that the Lord, he is God; he has made us, and we are his people and the sheep of his pasture. :
His gates came in thanksgiving, his courts in praise, they gave thanks to him, they blessed his name. :
For the Lord is good; his mercy endures forever, and his faithfulness endures to all generations. :

Chapter 1
A Psalm of David: Of mercy and judgment. I will sing praises to you, O Lord.
I will teach you the way of righteousness. When will you come to me? I will walk with you in my heart, near my house.
I will not allow a wicked person to speak against me. He who does wrong, whom I hate, will not cling to me.
A stubborn heart torments me, I know not evil.
He who speaks to me secretly is his neighbor, he who is proud of his eyes and has a broad heart, he will not be consumed.
My eyes are on the faithful of the land, to restore my feet. He who walks in a blameless way will serve me.
No one who practices deceit shall dwell near my house; no one who speaks lies shall be prepared before my eyes.

Chapter 1
Pray for the poor, that he may be comforted, and pour out his complaint before the Lord.
O Lord, hear my prayer, and my cry shall come unto thee.
Hide not thy face from me in the day of my trouble: incline thine ear unto me in the day when I call, answer me speedily.
For my days are consumed in smoke, and my strength is consumed like a spear.
My heart is smitten like grass, and withered away, because I have forgotten to eat my bread.
From the sound of my groaning my soul cleaveth to my flesh.
If I were to vomit out of the desert, I would be like a cup of ruins.
I will be diligent and will be like a bird alone on the roof.
All day long my enemies have reproached me; my boasters have sworn against me.
For I have eaten ashes as my bread, and my tears have covered my face.
Because of your anger and your wrath, for you have taken me and thrown me away.
My days are like a fading shadow, and I am like withered grass.
And you, O Lord, will abide forever, and your remembrance from generation to generation.
Arise, have mercy on Zion, for it is time to favor her, for the set time has come.
For your servants have desired its stones, and we will spare its dust.
And the nations shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.
For the Lord has built up Zion, visible in his glory.
He turned to the prayer of supplication and did not despise their prayer.

For the Lord looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven he looked upon the earth.

Inna, in the way of my strength, is a short sea.

You laid the foundation of the earth before me, and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but you will remain, and they will all wear out like a garment; like a garment you will change them, and they will be changed.

Chapter 11
To David: My soul blesses the Lord, and all my friends, bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

The Redeemer from corruption smiles upon me, the One who crowns me with grace and mercy.
He who satisfies you with goodness will renew you like the eagle of your youth.
He executes the righteousness of the Lord and justice for all the oppressed.
He made known his ways to Moses, his statutes to the children of Israel.
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in loving-kindness.
An enemy will not be defeated, nor will he be forever purified.
He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor has he dealt with us according to our iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward those who fear him.
As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from him.
As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.
For He knows that we will be remembered, for we are dust.
A man is like a flower of his days, like a flower of the field, so he will flourish.
For a wind has passed through it, and it is gone, and its place will no longer be known to them.
And the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children.
To those who keep his covenant and remember his commandments to do them.
The Lord has prepared his throne in heaven, and his kingdom over all the earth.
Bless the Lord, you his angels, you mighty in power, who do his word, obeying the voice of his word.

Chapter 1
My soul blesses the Lord, the Lord my God. You are exceedingly great in praise and glory.
A ray of light like a cloud, reaching to the sky like a torch.
He who rides on the wings of the wind, whose name is thick on the waters.
He makes his angels the spirits of his ministers a flaming fire.
The earth is founded on its foundations, but it will never be destroyed.
The abyss is like a garment, its covering on the mountains will stand water.
At your rebuke they flee, at the sound of your thunder they flee.
The mountains shall ascend, the valleys shall descend, unto this place which thou hast founded for them.
You have set a boundary, but they will not cross it, but they will not return to the treasures of the land.
He who sends forth springs of water among the mountains will walk.
They will water all his animals, and my fields will quench the thirst of the wild animals.
The birds of the sky will dwell above them, and among the birds they will give voice.
The mountains will drink from their heights; the earth will be satisfied with the fruit of your works.
He causes grass to grow for the cattle and herbs for the service of man, to bring forth bread from the earth.
And wine rejoices a man's heart to make his face shine, and bread satisfies a man's heart.
The trees of the Lord shall be satisfied, the cedars of Lebanon which he hath planted.
Where birds will make their nests in the shade of the trees.
The high mountains are rocky, a shelter for the Japanese.
He made the moon for appointed times, and the sun knows its coming.
Darkness will fall, and night will be in it, and all its life will be trampled underfoot like a forest.
The infidels roar to devour and to ask God to feed them.

A man shall go out to his work and to his work until evening.
How many are your works, O Lord! In wisdom you have made the earth your habitation!

The glory of the Lord shall be for ever: the Lord shall rejoice in his works.
He looks at the earth and trembles; he touches the mountains and they smoke.
I will praise the Lord while I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have any being.
My servant will be glad in him, I will rejoice in the Lord.
Sinners will be cut off from the earth, and the wicked will not be any more. My soul will bless the Lord, hallelujah.

Chapter 11
Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name, make known his deeds among the peoples.
Sing to Him, sing praises to Him, tell of all His wonders.
Glory in his holy name; let the heart of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Seek the Lord and seek his strength; seek his face continually.
Remember his wonders that he has done, his miracles and the judgments of his mouth.
The seed of Abraham his servant, the children of Jacob his chosen ones.
He is the Lord our God, his judgments are in all the earth.
He remembers his covenant forever, the word of commandment to a thousand generations.
Who made Abraham and his oath to Isaac to be broken.
And he confirmed it to Jacob for a law, to Israel for an everlasting covenant.
Saying, I will give unto thee the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance.
While they are dead, few in number, and strangers in it.
And they went from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people.
He did not allow anyone to oppress them, and he set kings over them.
Do not touch my anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
And there was a famine in the land, and every camp was broken for bread.
Send a man before them, a servant named Joseph.
He was tortured with fetters, his soul was brought to the brink of death.
Until the time of his word comes, the word of the Lord is clear to him.
A king sent and let him rule over the peoples, and he opened it.
He is called the master of his own house, and ruler over all his possessions.
He will restrain his thoughts in his soul, and he will make his elders wise.
And Israel came up out of Egypt, and Jacob was a stranger in a hot land.
And he greatly oppressed his people, and strengthened them against their enemies.
He turned their hearts to hate his people, to devour his servants.
Moses sent his servant Aaron, whom he had chosen.
They set up among them the words of his signs, and signs in a hot land.
He sent darkness, and it grew dark, and they did not hear his word.
He turned their waters into blood and killed their fish.
Their land is full of frogs in the chambers of their kings.
He said, "And the raven came to the kenim throughout all their borders."
He gave their bodies to hail, and fire to flames in their land.
And he smote their vines and their fig trees, and broke the trees of their borders.
He said, "And the locusts came and devoured without number."
And he ate every herb in their land, and he ate the fruit of their ground.
And he smote all the firstborn in their land, the firstfruits of all their days.
And he brought them out with silver and gold, and there was none among his tribes that failed.
The Egyptians rejoiced at their departure, for their fear had fallen upon them.
Spread a cloud for a veil and a fire to light the night.
He asked, and his prayer came, and he satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
He opened a window, and water gushed out, and they went forth in the multitude of the river.
For he remembered the word of his holiness, Abraham his servant.
And his people brought out his chosen ones in the spring of the year.
And he gave them the lands of the nations, and the labor of the nations they inherited.
In the past, his laws were kept and his commandments were observed, hallelujah.

Hallelujah! Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his mercy endures forever.
Who can recount the mighty acts of the Lord? Let all his praise be heard.
Blessed are those who keep judgment, who do righteousness at all times.
Remember me, O Lord, in the will of your people; visit me in your salvation.
To see the good of your chosen ones, to rejoice in the joy of your nation, to exult with your inheritance.
We have sinned with our fathers, we have acted wickedly.
Our fathers in Egypt did not understand your wonders; they did not remember the multitude of your mercies, but rebelled against the sea in the great flood.
And he saved them for his name's sake, to make known his power.
And he rebuked the waters with a storm, and destroyed them, and led them through the depths as through a wilderness.
And he saved them from the hand of the hater, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
And the waters covered their enemies; not one of them was left.
And they believed his words and sang his praises.
They quickly forgot his works and did not wait for his advice.
And they wandered in the wilderness, and fled to Bishimon.
And he granted them their request, and sent moderation into their souls.
And they envied Moses in the camp, saying, Aaron is holy to the Lord.
The earth will open and swallow up Dithan, and will fall upon the congregation of Abiram.
And a fire shall burn in their company, a flame shall kindle among the wicked.
They made a calf in Horeb and worshiped it as a sacrifice.
And they exchanged their pride for the stature of an ox that eats grass.
They forgot God, the Savior, who had done great things in Egypt.
Wonders in a hot land are terrible on a stormy sea.
And he said to destroy them, "If only Moses, his chosen one, had stood in the breach before him, to turn away his wrath from destroying."
And they were dismayed in the pleasant land; they believed not his word.
And they smote them in their tents, they obeyed not the voice of the Lord.
And he stretched out his hand against them to overthrow them in the wilderness.
And to scatter their seed among the nations, and to sow them in the lands.
And they joined themselves to Baal-peor, and ate sacrifices of the dead.
And they were angry with their deeds, and a plague broke out among them.
And Phinehas stood up and prayed, and the plague was stayed.
And it was reckoned to him as righteousness from generation to generation forever.
And they quarreled at the waters of Meribah, and it displeased Moses because of their transgression.
For they rebelled against his spirit, and he spoke with his lips.
They did not destroy the nations, as the Lord had spoken to them.
And they mingled with the nations, and learned their works.
And they worked their sorrows, and they became a snare to them.
And they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons.
And they shed innocent blood, their sons and their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was filled with blood.
And they were defiled by their deeds, and committed fornication by their deeds.
And the anger of the Lord was kindled against his people, and he abhorred his inheritance.
And they were given into the hand of the nations, and they that hated them ruled over them.
And their enemies surrounded them and bowed down under their hand.
Many times they will be saved, and they will speak in their own counsel and be smitten in their own sin.
And he saw their anger when he heard their singing.
And he remembered his covenant with them, and comforted them according to his lovingkindness.
And he gave them up for mercy before all their captors.
Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations, to give thanks to your holy name, to be glorified in your praise.
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting. And all the people said, Amen, hallelujah!
